History Teaching, Curriculum and Teacher Training: Projects and Actions for the Implementation of Federal Law 10.639/03 (Marabá/PA, 2003 to 2019)

Abstract

This article presents the results of the investigation carried out in the master’s research in the Postgraduate Program in History (PPGHIST/Unifesspa), whose purpose was to identify projects and actions for the implementation of Federal Law 10.639/2003 carried out by the Secretariat of Education of the Municipal Network of Marabá, between the years 2003 to 2019, mapping them and discussing the performance of the municipality/SEMED in the process of implementing legislation with schools/teachers/community in general, as well as reflecting on the gaps in this process. This investigation was carried out through the analysis of written documents (produced by the SEMED) and oral documents (interviews and informal conversations). We verified, based on the analyzed documentation, that Marabá did not concretely demonstrate the commitment with the implementation of the Federal Law 10.639/03, being absent devices/policies that would guarantee its effectiveness.
