Thinking the teaching of History as a promising field in the anti-racist struggle and in the deconstruction of a histo-riographical racism that is edifying in most of the hegemonic narratives dis-seminated in the city of Ponta Grossa, a municipality that houses the 13 de Maio Literary and Recreational Club, object of this research, patrimonialized in 2001. This text has as general objective to present how a sensitive territory can be seen in different prisms. With regard to the specific objectives, the aim is to bring conceptual discussions pointing out how the teaching of History, thought at first, within the scope of law 10.639/2003 and 11.645/2008 can contribute to the construction of other narratives, in addition to Eurocentric stories. It also seeks to address how the process of listing the Literary and Recreational Club 13 de Maio took place and to recognize the specificities of the concepts that define them.
