
This paper aims to analyze the debate about gender ideology and teaching in Brazil emphasizing its articulation with some aspects of the rationality of neoliberalism. Concerning Wendy Brown’s critic about the role of “family” in the affirmation of neoliberal’s political project we will consider how the defense of liberty and family has become fundamentals for the allegation of the existence of a gender ideology on education threatening the moral and tradition. This research was achieved by the analysis of the debates in the Assembly of the State of Rio de Janeiro (ALERJ), between 2014 and 2018.
