“Timeline fan” is a didactic proposal that seeks to think about the issues surrounding the teaching of History on the themes of gender and sexuality from a historical perspective. Based on the issues raised by Pereira and Torelly (2020), we propose that teaching history, in this case, could hardly be based solely on the student's reality, given the advance of conservatism that produces hysteria on the subject and constrains the presence of these discussions in everyday life. Thus, the logic of the fan emerges as a possibility of blurring present and past, building identifications from the student's “distant” historical and social narrative.
